Townsville University Hospital (TUH), located adjacent to one of Queensland's leading tertiary institutions, James Cook University, is the largest tertiary hospital in northern Australia, providing specialist referral services for 700,000 people living from Mackay, to the Torres Strait, to the Northern Territory border.

Medical Imaging Department (MID) provides a service and access to all imaging modalities 24/7. High quality patient outcomes remain the primary focus; supported by close and responsive links to clinical areas. Key staff members are actively involved in HHS and Regional service planning. The service is a critical element of the Townsville HHS tertiary level service capability and support to surrounding health facilities. It provides key diagnostic and interventional services to support front line critical care areas and clinical units. MID staff also assist and consult with neighbouring health facilities to improve levels of service integration and clinical outcomes.

About the role

Deliver medical imaging clinical services as a member of a multidisciplinary / modality team to clients of Queensland Health. Work across a range of modality services within Imaging under direction from senior clinical leaders.

We are seeking radiographers with clinical experience in Emergency, general Radiography, and advanced modalities.

This appointees may be required to participate in various rosters and be allocated to any facility within the Townsville HHS.

Mandatory requirements:

• Registration with Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (AHPRA),
• Tertiary qualification specific to medical imaging
• Eligible for a Queensland Radiation Use Licence
• Evidence of professional development activities
• Desirable: ASMIRT Certification in either MR, CT, Angiographer (Cardiac and Vascular), Mammography, or Preliminary Image Evaluation (PIE).
• VPD risk role: Hepatitis A/B, MMR, Varicella and Pertussis.
• A probation period may apply.
• Pre-employment checks will be conducted.

Generous remuneration package

• Salary rates: $3223.00–$4459.00 p.f. (f/t) or $42.40–$58.67 p.h. (p/t) (HP3.1-HP3.4)
• 5 weeks annual leave with 14% loading
• 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
• X-ray allowance and ongoing licensing fee support (if required under Radiation Safety Act 1999) may apply.
• Permanent appointments, or temp after 12 months' service - $1,975.00 p.a. PDA (pro rata)
• Permanent appointments, or temp after 6 months' service - 3 days p.a. PD leave (pro rata)

Casual rates: $52.16–$72.16 p.h. + 12.75% employer contribution to supperannuation.
